5G module – ultra small size, huge possibilities
SIM8202G-M2 is a small-size (42.0×30.0x2.3mm) multi-band 5G module, which supports NSA/SA networking and covers all frequency bands of major network carriers around the world. It adopts the standard M2 interface and its AT command set is compatible with SIM7912G / SIM8200X-M2 modules, which can minimize the investment cost and speed up the market launch for customers.
SIM8202G-M2 adopts a new 4-antenna design, which effectively increases communication capacity, sends and receives data in an active manner, and maintains high data speed and stability. Meanwhile, to ensure the module can work stably for a long time, the design of SIM8202G-M2 takes full account of the layout of heating components, making sure the main heating components have sufficient holes to base. At the same time, a large exposed copper area is designed on the back of the module to facilitate the heat dissipation of the module by silica gel.
SIMCom 5G modules have been used in 5G Industrial Gateway, which can help users access high-speed Internet quickly and realize safe and reliable data transmission. 5G Industrial Gateway has an open architecture design that provides fast and flexible customization. It’s easy to integrate and can be embedded for installation, supporting all 5G networks, Wi-Fi, wired network access, and can realize local real-time data analysis and intelligent processing. It’s widely used in AGVs, patrol robots, WITMED and other industrial Internet scenarios.
As wireless terminal access equipment, CPE is another big application scenario for 5G. NB-IoT module that supports LTE 450MHzs
SIM7070E is a LPWA module which supports wireless communication modes of Cat-M/Cat-NB/GPRS/EDGE. It adopts LCC form factor and has a compact size of 24x24mm which makes it ideal for compact products design. Meanwhile, SIM7070E has powerful expansibility with abundant interfaces including UART, GPIO, PCM, SPI, I2C etc. It supports LTE 450MHz which is dedicated for Metering Application. It has received various certifications is ideally suited for M2M applications that require low latency, low throughput data communication in a variety of radio propagation conditions, such as metering, asset tracking, and remote monitoring, E-health, etc.
The innovation and development of IoT technology are facilitating a large-scale replacement of traditional meters by IoT smart meters. Hence a gradual switch from 2G towards NB-IoT. There is the increasing demand for meters with low power consumption, low delay and wide coverage. SIMCom has launched a series of LPWA modules, such as NB-IoT& GNSS module SIM7060 series, LTE CAT.M1&NB-IoT module SIM7080G, and latest small-sized LTE CAT.M1 & NB-IoT module SIM7090G and so on.
SIMCom and partners have created a series of smart water metering devices in an effort to make sure that water is better distributed and protected. These Smart water metering applications were equipped with SIMCom’s NB-IoT SIM7070E, used to realize remote data transmission and control. It supports accurate measurement, remote data transmission and real-time monitoring. Meanwhile, these devices have edge computing algorithms on board; they are able to detect alarm and warning by themselves: leakage, consumption above limits, values out of limits.
LTE Cat.1 module – a cost-effective solution
A7670E is an LTE Cat.1 module, which also supports 2G wireless communication modes (GPRS / EDGE). Its maximum data transfer rate is 10 Mbps DL and 5 Mbps UL. The module has a LGA housing and can be compatible with the SIM7000 / SIM7070 series (modules NB-IoT / Cat-M) and SIM800F (2G module), which enables smooth migration from 2G / NB-IoT / Cat-M networks to LTE Cat.1 and makes it much easier to design a product with multiple options according to customer needs.
The A7670E supports many built-in network functionalities (including DTMF, EAT, FOTA, LBS, SSL). Drivers for major operating systems (Windows, Linux and Android etc.) are also available. The AT command set is compatible with modules from the SIM7500 / SIM7600 series.
